Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
This company originally started in Utica, NY in 1894. The Model 1895 was initially manufactured by Marlin between 1895 and 1899. After WWI, the name was changed to the Savage Arms Corporation. Savage moved to Chicopee Falls, MA around 1946 to its Stevens Arms Co. plants. In the mid-1960s, the company became The Savage Arms Division of American Hardware Corp., which later became The Emhart Corporation. This division was sold in September 1981 and became Savage Industries, Inc., located in Westfield, MA since the move in 1960. On November 1, 1989, Savage Arms Inc. acquired the majority of assets of Savage Industries, Inc. On June 24, 2013, ATK acquired Caliber Company, the parent company of Savage Sports Corporation. During 2013, Savage Arms became a division of the Vista Outdoor Group. On July 1, 2019, Vista announced that it sold Savage's (and its subsidiaries Stevens and Fox) firearms to Long Range Acquisition, LLC.
The Savage 110 series of rifles actually saved the company from going out of business. The "E" in the model name stands for "Economy." These rifles were provided at a lower cost. Major differences were the stock, trigger mechanism, and the Mauser magazine construction. Other than that, a 110E should shoot just as well as a 110.
Return Policy:
We gladly offer a 3 day unfired inspection policy from the time that the firearm is delivered to your FFL. Refunds are available for all qualifying orders.
