Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
This Savage Model 1914 pump action rifle showcases a 24-inch octagon barrel paired with a three-quarter length tubular magazine, accommodating .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle cartridges. Notably, it boasts a hammerless design and includes a thumbscrew positioned on the right side of the receiver. Serving as an advancement over Savage's earlier Model 1903 pump action rifle, the Model 1914 was subsequently succeeded by the Model 25. One of its standout features, highlighted by Savage during its era, is the elongated forend, designed for easier operation without causing strain on the shooter's left arm and wrist. This feature was subtly positioned as a contrast to Winchester's 1890 and 1906 models. Approximately 49,600 of these rifles were manufactured between 1914 and 1926, celebrated for their smooth action and innovative design elements.
