Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
During the 1980s, Jim and John Davis were in charge of a company called Davis Industries. This company was one of the many revivals of Jennings, who was responsible for the infamous J-22. Nowadays, the J-22 is produced by a company called Jimenez. In 1987, John Davis left Davis Industries and founded his own company. His goal was to recreate the J-22, but make it more affordable. This resulted in the SP-22, a small pocket pistol chambered in .22 Long Rifle. The SP-22 features a nickel finish, a 2 1/2" barrel, and faux pearl grips. John Davis only managed to produce the SP-22 for three months. This was due to his brother suing him for $45 million. His brother claimed that John infringed on his patents. Additionally, Sedco, the company that produced the SP-22, went bankrupt and was dissolved two years later.
