The SIG P229 Sport is an all-stainless steel, semiautomatic, recoil-operated pistol with a traditional double/single-action trigger. Standard features include a 4-inch barrel with a one-port compensator, adjustable sights, and two 10-round magazines with extended floor plates that act as a grip extension. The Sport was only chambered for the .357 Sig cartridge from 1998 to 2000 and then for the .40 S&W from 2003 to 2005. Although it is based on the standard Sig P229, once you get up close and personal, the re-engineering by Sig is impressive.
