The SIG Sauer is a semi-automatic pistol that was designed and manufactured by SIG Sauer, both SIG Sauer GmbH in Germany and SIG Sauer Inc. of New Hampshire, United States. It was produced from 1996 to 2018 and was available in three calibers: 9×19mm Parabellum, .357 SIG, and .40 S&W. The pistol gained popularity in the US as a concealed carry weapon. It has a 3.6-inch barrel and an overall length of 6.6 inches, with a height of 5.2 inches. The weight of the pistol is approximately 25-27 oz when empty, depending on the caliber. The magazine that comes with the pistol is a single-stack and has a capacity of 8 rounds for 9×19mm ammunition, or 7 rounds for .357 SIG or .40 S&W. Initially, the SIG Sauer was available only as double action/single action (DA/SA), but later it was also offered as double-action-only (DAO).
