The Smith & Wesson Model 19 stands out as an ergonomic, and easily handled pistol. The hefty frame has enough weight to withstand the recoil of the .357 Magnum round, but not be so heavy as to wear out your shooting arm on range day. Some reports claim that even with a wide variety of ammunition weights, groups at 25 yards never exceeded 2.5 inches. Just pointing this revolver is intuitive and instinctual, due to the expertly designed ergonomics.
As for ammunition availability, the .357 Magnum chambered revolver is also able to safely shoot the lighter .38 Special, saving you a little hard-earned scratch when practicing. Revolvers are known to have particularly good triggers when shooting in single action, and this one is no different. With practically no takeup, the pull is incredibly light. As long as you can overcome that flinch, you'll be ringing steel and making music to your ears (with proper PPE, of course).
