Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The J-frame revolver, also known as Model 38, was introduced in 1955 as the Airweight Bodyguard. It has an aluminum frame, a carbon steel barrel, and a carbon steel cylinder with a five-round capacity. This model has a shrouded hammer design, which is a departure from the usual S&W procedure where the alloy-framed version comes first. The Model 38 is chambered for .38 Special and comes with a 2" barrel as standard. Although a 3" barrel was offered, it is rarely encountered. The frame of the Model 38 is extended to conceal and shroud the hammer, but it also allows the hammer to be cocked by the thumb. This makes it an ideal pocket revolver as it can be drawn without catching on clothing.
Return Policy:
We gladly offer a 3 day unfired inspection policy from the time that the firearm is delivered to your FFL. Refunds are available for all qualifying orders.
