The Smith & Wesson Model S&W500 Double-Action Revolver offers tremendous power for handgun hunting, the largest species of big game on earth. The overall weight of the large X-frame S&W revolver, with a full-length ejector rod shroud and compensated barrel, tames the recoil S&W500 to an extremely manageable level. The single-action trigger pull on the S&W500 is light and crisp for precise shooting, and the double-action pull cycles the cylinder smoothly. A large, aggressively checkered hammer spur provides a solid, non-slip surface for the thumb to cock the hammer under inclement conditions. The interchangeable post front sight is pinned into an integral sight ramp, and the rear sight is adjustable for windage and elevation; the top strap under the rear sight is drilled and tapped for a scope base. Stainless steel construction provides corrosion resistance and low maintenance for prolonged holster carry while camping and hiking in the backcountry. The synthetic rubber grip provides a sure hold in any weather and helps to absorb recoil.
