The Smith & Wesson 559 is a double-action (DA/SA), recoil-operated semi-automatic pistol that is an all-steel variant of the 'Second Generation' alloy frame model 459. It comes with a slide-mounted ambidextrous safety, checkered backstrap, and a 14-round double-stack magazine and is available in either a Nickel or a blue Finish. The gun was introduced in 1980 and started shipping in 1981, with the first units having a serial number of around A672,725. Most of the guns were produced with the short wide extractor, but only around 200 to 250 units were supplied with the long extractor. The production of the gun was discontinued in October 1982, after a total of 10,609 units were produced - 8,973 in blue finish and 1,636 in nickel.

The owner states that this example remains New Old Stock and we see no evidence to indicate otherwise! This example will ship with the Smith & Wesson box and paperwork!
