The Model 629 Deluxe chambered in .44 Magnum, features elegant textured wood grips and is available in two barrel lengths, 3” and 6.5”. The all stainless steel Model 629 Deluxe offers compact powerful protection, sport shooting, handgun hunting and collecting all in one. Frist introduced in 1978, the Smith & Wesson Model 629 is a stainless steel version of the Model 29 which became a part of American lore thanks to the fictional character "Dirty Harry Callahan." The 629 model designation derives from Smith & Wesson's practice of denoting a stainless steel version of one of their already existing designs by placing a 6 in front of the 29 model number of the original weapon.
