Smith & Wesson brought back their shotgun line in 2006, debuting the Elite and semi-automatic 1000 Series at the 2007 SHOT Show. The Elite Series was produced in Turkey and consisted of two variants: the Elite Gold, a 20-gauge side-by-side with barrel lengths of 26 or 28 inches (66 or 71 cm), and the Elite Silver, a 12-gauge over-and-under with barrel lengths of 26, 28, or 30 inches (66, 71, or 76 cm). The 26-inch Silver variant was discontinued in 2008, and the entire Elite Series was eventually discontinued by mid-2010.
