Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Smith & Wesson revolver chambered in .32-20 Winchester is a double-action firearm built on the square-butt K-frame with 5 screws, featuring either a 4-inch or 5.5-inch round pinned barrel. Available with a blue or nickel finish, it comes equipped with a forged round blade front sight and a square-notch rear sight for service models. Target models feature a square-cut blade mounted and pinned on a raised boss with an adjustable rear sight on the top strap. These target variants also have serrated front and rear tangs with six grooves and were available only in a square-butt frame with a 6-inch barrel, beginning in 1923. The revolver is fitted with checkered black hard rubber or checkered diamond walnut stocks, without medallions. It has a 6-shot fluted cylinder with a nominal length of 1.56 inches, and serial numbers are located on the butt, cylinder face, behind the star extractor, on the yoke, and on the barrel flat. Heat-treated cylinders were introduced at serial number 81287. Barrel markings include "32 W.C.F. CTG" on the right side, though some revolvers are marked "32-20 CTG." "Smith & Wesson" is engraved on the left side of the barrel. The revolver has a smooth .265-inch trigger and a checkered hammer spur, with smooth backstrap and forestrap on service models. Weighing 30 oz with a 4-inch barrel, the S&W trademark is stamped on the frame's left side, beneath the thumbpiece.
