Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Smith & Wesson .32-20 Hand Ejector Model of 1905 is a double-action revolver chambered in .32-20 Winchester, built on the square-butt K-frame with five screws. It was offered with barrel lengths of 4-inch, 5-inch, or 6-inch and finished in either blue or nickel. The service model featured a forged round blade front sight and a flattened top strap with a square-notch rear sight. For target models, a square-cut blade front sight, mounted and pinned in a raised boss, was paired with an adjustable rear sight on the top strap. Target versions also featured serrated front and rear tangs with six grooves and were exclusively available with a square-butt frame and 6-inch barrel starting in 1923. It had a 6-shot fluted cylinder with a nominal length of 1.56 inches. Starting at serial number 81287, cylinders were heat-treated. Barrel markings typically included "32 W.C.F. CTG" on the right side, and some revolvers also featured "32-20 CTG" markings, with "Smith & Wesson" on the left side of the barrel.

The revolver came with a smooth trigger, a .265" checked hammer spur, and smooth backstrap and forestrap on service models. The S&W trademark appears on the left side of the frame under the thumbpiece, and “MADE IN U.S.A.” can be found on the right side of the frame on some examples. The serial number range for the fourth change model ranged from 65701 to 144684, with a total of 78,983 units manufactured between 1915 and 1940.
