The Destroyer Carbine is a compact Spanish bolt-action rifle chambered in 9mm Bergmann, also known as 9x23mm Largo. Manufactured primarily by Gaztañaga y Compañía and later by Ayra Duria S.A., both located in the arms-making center of Eibar, the Destroyer drew design inspiration from the Mauser 1893. It features a simple yet robust action with two rear-locking lugs, a two-position Mauser-style safety, and a detachable single-stack magazine often compatible with pistols of the same caliber. Widely issued to Spanish police forces, prison guards, and the Guardia Civil, the Destroyer offered the practicality of a rifle chambered in a pistol cartridge, delivering improved accuracy, range, and velocity compared to sidearms while maintaining light recoil and ease of handling. Its compact size and shared ammunition made it ideal for law enforcement and paramilitary use.
