In terms of concealability, the XD(M) 3.8" Compact compares favorably with other firearms. Weighing 27 ounces and standing 4.75 inches tall, it is notably lighter and shorter than a commander-size M1911, which typically weighs around 36 ounces and stands 5.5 inches tall. The XD(M) Compact’s flush-fitting 13-round magazine contributes to its compact profile, with the grip extending only 1.5 inches below the trigger guard, offering a comfortable two-finger grip without excessive protrusion that might reveal the firearm under clothing.
