The Professional was made specifically for the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team to demanding standards, hence the ultra-tight fit. However, Springfield's Custom Shop discontinued manufacture of the Professional in 2024 - they can no longer be purchased new (and when you could, it was a 1 year wait time)!

The custom pistolsmiths have over 200 combined years of experience building custom pistols in this very shop; many of whom are distinguished members of the American Pistolsmith Guild.
