The Star Model BS is a semi-automatic pistol that is chambered in the 9mm Parabellum cartridge and was produced from 1968 to 1994 by Star Bonifacio Echeverria, S.A. in Spain. It features an all-steel frame and slide, checkered grips, and a thumb safety. The Star Model BS has a classic appearance similar to the 1911, but it is not a clone. There are several differences between the guns, most notably the caliber, as the Star Model BS fires the more economical 9mm and lacks a grip safety. Although the takedown process is slightly different, the famous Browning design still shines through in the look, feel, and operation of this Star pistol.
