Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Stevens Model 345 was a very neat little gun made in 20 ga only from 1916 to 1928. Only about 3600 of this model were made. The 345 is light weight and has a robust in design. Mechanically unique for an American gun, the main springs are floating in action slots with the forward end riding on cocking dogs that protrude from the action knuckle. Said cocking dogs are depressed by notches in the fore-end iron as the barrels are dropped down. This long main spring has roller bearings on the other ends that reduce friction and facilitate cocking.
