Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Stoeger 22 Luger is a semi-automatic pistol that uses .22 caliber cartridges. It has a 10-round capacity and operates through blow-back action. This pistol was first introduced by Stoeger in 1969 and was discontinued in 1985. The Stoeger Luger is similar in design to the original Luger pistol, but it uses a simplified version of the toggle lock. Unlike the original Luger pistol, the Stoeger Luger does not 'lock' the action during firing and instead relies on blowback operation, similar to other .22LR autoloading pistols. The gun was designed by Gary Willhelm and was manufactured from 1969 to 1985.
The toggle of the Stoeger Luger features a logo of two birds (Eagles), both facing in the same direction inside of a circle. One side of the frame has the word “LUGER” inside a floral oval, while the other side of the frame is labeled “Manufactured in the U.S.A. by / Stoeger Arms Corporation / S. Hackensack New Jersey / Patents Pending”. The serial number and “Cal..22 LR” are also included on the frame. The gun comes in two barrel lengths, 4.5 in (11 cm) and 5.5 in (140 mm), and is mounted with a front blade in a dovetail slot. The rear sight can be either a raised square notch type or an adjustable sight attached to the frame.
