Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Taurus Model 66 is almost the same as the Taurus Model 65, except for the adjustable sights. The Model 66 was introduced in 1978 and it looks very similar to the Smith & Wesson Model 19. This is because both companies were owned by Bangor Punta in the Seventies and Eighties, and they shared designs and technology. However, there are differences between the two models internally. Over the years, the Model 66 has undergone changes such as a stainless-steel finish, rubber grips, full underlug barrels, varying barrel lengths being added and removed from the catalog, and seven cartridge cylinders being introduced. The Model 66 has been one of Taurus' best-selling models for the past 45 years.
