The Taurus Millennium series is a line of semi-automatic pistols designed for civilian concealed carry and as backup weapons for law enforcement officers. Manufactured by Forjas Taurus S/A in Porto Alegre, Brazil, the Millennium pistols are available in both double-action-only (DAO) and single-action/double-action hammerless configurations, featuring striker-fired, short recoil-operated mechanisms. The series was developed to offer a reliable, compact firearm for personal defense. In 2013, Taurus introduced the Millennium G2 model, an updated version of the original Millennium line. The G2 features enhanced ergonomics with stippled texturing on the grips for better handling and replaces the slide retainer pin with Glock-style pulldown tabs for easier disassembly. Additionally, it retains the loaded chamber indicator from the earlier Pro models but upgrades the sights to adjustable 3-dot sights, replacing the previous Heinie ‘Straight-8’ system. Available in two calibers, the PT111 (9mm) and PT140 (.40 caliber), the Millennium G2 is rated for +P ammunition, offering increased versatility for defensive use. With its compact size, improved features, and solid performance, the Millennium G2 continues to be a popular choice for concealed carry and backup duty.
