The Taurus PT 24/7 is a semi-automatic pistol designed for civilian concealed carry and as a backup weapon for law enforcement. Manufactured by Forjas Taurus in Brazil and distributed by Taurus USA, the PT 24/7 features a striker-fired, hammerless design with both double-action-only (DAO) and double-action/single-action (SA/DA) trigger options. It is chambered in 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP, with magazine capacities ranging from 6 to 17 rounds, depending on the model and caliber. The 24/7 pistols are built with an injection-molded polymer frame and offer slides made of blued carbon steel, stainless steel, or titanium. Key safety features of the PT 24/7 include a positive firing pin block, the "Taurus Safety Latch" transfer bar safety, a manual frame-mounted safety lever, and the integrated Taurus Security System (TSS) that prevents firing unless the trigger is intentionally pulled. The pistols also have a visible/tactile loaded chamber indicator and a dust cover Picatinny rail for accessories like laser sights or tactical lights.
