This particular Walther PPK is a limited edition gun that was issued by the American Historical Foundation to honor the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI-6). Each pistol has a special registry number ranging from 001 to 500, and the prefix "MI-6" is engraved on the trigger guard. The pistol is considered a "Crown Jewel" of "Her Majesty's Secret Service". It showcases traditional acorn-and-oakleaf engraving, which is hand-cut using the hammer-and-chisel method, on both sides. The polishing is of the highest quality, and the 24-karat gold plating is of jeweler grade, with a heavy thickness to ensure lasting beauty and value. The grips of the pistol are also custom-made and feature faux ivory embellished in bas-relief.

This example holds the registry number "MI-6 167." With the history and fame of the PPK, no firearm collection is complete without one, and this Limited Edition will make for more interesting conversation and demonstration than anything else in your collection!

Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Walther PPK is the most common variant of the PP model. It is a smaller version of the PP with a shorter grip, barrel, and frame, making it more concealable and better suited to plain clothes or undercover work. The exposed back strap is concealed using a new, two-piece wrap-around grip panel construction. The PPK was released in 1931, and its name is an abbreviation for "Polizeipistole Kriminal," which means "police pistol criminal." The K in PPK does not stand for kurz (German for "short"), as it is often assumed, but for Kriminalamt, the crime investigation office. Walther used the name "Kriminal" in early advertising brochures and the 1937 GECO German catalog.

James Bond's adventures are partly based on reality. The creator of James Bond, Ian Fleming, served in British Naval Intelligence and worked with the British Secret Intelligence Service, also known as "MI-6". In the movie "Dr. No," released in 1962, James Bond (a.k.a. Agent 007) frequently used the Walther PPK, which helped make this pistol famous. The Walther PPK is well-known among intelligence officers worldwide as a favorite for personal defense due to its precision-built and reliable nature, small size, and ability to be concealed.

Despite the Walther PPK's fame and connection to MI-6, there has never been a Special Edition Walther commemorating the British Secret Intelligence Service, making this a world-first. This Limited Edition Walther, created by the American Historical Foundation, is a museum-quality piece that honors the suspense and intrigue of the agents who are part of the secret world of MI-6.

The pistol is a "Crown Jewel" of "Her Majesty's Secret Service". It is a special collector's edition, with traditional acorn-and-oakleaf engraving covering both sides, hand-cut using the time-honored hammer-and-chisel method. The polishing is jewel-like, and the 24-karat Gold plating is of jeweler grade-heavy thickness for lasting beauty and value. Even the grips are special, custom-made of faux ivory and embellished in bas-relief.

This edition is limited to only 500 worldwide. Each pistol bears its own special registry number between 001 and 500, with the prefix "MI-6" engraved on the trigger guard. With the history and fame of the PPK, no firearm collection is complete without one, and this Limited Edition will make for more interesting conversation and demonstration than anything else in your collection!
