The Winchester Model 1906 is a classic American rimfire rifle that played a major role in introducing generations of shooters to safe, reliable, and affordable firearms during the early 20th century. Introduced by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1906 as a simplified and more economical companion to the Model 1890, the Winchester 1906 was designed as a slide-action (pump-action) .22-caliber rifle intended especially for youths, beginners, and recreational shooters.
