The Winchester Model 59 was a 12 gauge semi-automatic shotgun manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company from 1960 to 1965. It was designed by David Marshall Williams, based on patents by Jonathan E. Browning. The Model 59 was promoted as a lightweight shotgun and was an improved version of the Model 50, which was sold a few years earlier.

The Winchester Model 59 was a 12 gauge semi-automatic shotgun manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company from 1960 to 1965. The Model 59 was promoted as a lightweight shotgun and was an improved version of the Model 50, which was sold a few years earlier.
Winchester introduced the Model 59 in 1960, making it their fourth semi-automatic shotgun model. The company launched an advertising campaign that emphasized the gun's modern features, such as its aluminum receiver, lightweight Win-Lite barrels, and the Versalite interchangeable choke system. Despite these advanced features, the Model 59 did not perform well commercially, and production ceased in 1965 after producing only 82,085 units.
