The Winchester Model 1894 rifle (also known as the Winchester 94 or Model 94) is a lever-action repeating rifle that became one of the most famous and popular hunting rifles of all time. It was designed by John Browning in 1894 and originally chambered to fire two metallic black powder cartridges, the .32-40 Winchester and .38-55 Winchester. It was the first rifle to chamber the smokeless powder round, the .30 WCF (Winchester Center Fire, in time becoming known as the .30-30) in 1895. In 1901 Winchester created the new .32 Winchester Special caliber with production of rifles starting in 1902.
Winchester 94 Nez Perce Chief Joseph tribute rifle in .30-30 WCF. This is a very rare one of only 600 limited edition rifles made in 1993 for Cherry's Fine Guns. The nickel plated receiver has detailed etching on both side. The left side shows a head and shoulders bust of Chief Joseph, the greatest of the Nez Perce chiefs, with a map of their journey from the reservation in Idaho to the Canadian Border, and the words "I will fight no more forever". The receiver right side features a Nez Perce encampment scene with a chief figure mounted on horseback against mountains in background. The lever and barrel bands are nickel plated. The stock is semi-fancy American walnut with oiled satin finish and checkering on the forearm and stock. The rifle has a 20" blued round barrel with 1 in 12 rifling, post front sight and adjustable buckhorn rear sight. It is drilled and tapped for scope mounting and has side ejection.
According to the owner, this rifle is new in box, never fired, and in pristine condition. It comes with the original box with the matching end label and all corresponding paperwork, all in as-new condition.
