Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Winchester Model 57 was an American bolt-action .22 caliber target-shooting rifle produced by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company from 1927 to 1936. Along with its companion weapon the Model 56, the Model 57 was Winchester's attempt to make a medium-priced target-shooting rifle.
The Model 57 was introduced in January 1927, with stocks arriving at the Winchester warehouse in August 1926. It was designed as a small, compact and well-built target rifle, equipped with a heavier stock and a sight combination suitable for target shooting.[1] Offered with its companion weapon, the Model 56, the weapon enjoyed some small amount of commercial success.
However, with the Great Depression looming and financial prospects of Winchester not being the best at the time, the Model 57 experienced slow sales; the weapon was also not exactly well liked as a target rifle as it was noted as being too light and having too short a barrel for it to be effective in its intended role. A total of 18,281 were produced over its nine-year production run, although the design heritage of this weapon survives in the Model 69 and 75.
Return Policy:
We gladly offer a 3 day unfired inspection policy from the time that the firearm is delivered to your FFL. Refunds are available for all qualifying orders.
