The STI 1911 LS40 is STI’s ultra-slim, single-stack 1911 built around the .40 S&W cartridge — a compact, carry-oriented 1911 variant with a short (˜3.25–3.4") barrel and a notably narrow slide/frame package that emphasizes conceal ability while retaining 1911 ergonomics. Typical factory specs show a shortened/abbreviated grip, single-stack magazine capacity appropriate for .40 (commonly 6+1 in .40; 7+1 in 9mm on sibling models), overall length around 7.0", and an unloaded weight in the high-20 oz range — dimensions that make the LS40 one of the flattest full-power 1911-pattern carry pistols of its era.
