The Taurus Millennium series is a line of compact semi-automatic pistols manufactured by Forjas Taurus S/A in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Designed primarily for concealed carry and law enforcement backup use, the series features striker-fired, short-recoil-operated pistols offered in double-action-only and hybrid trigger configurations. In early 2013, Taurus introduced the updated G2 models to the Millennium lineup, refining both ergonomics and functionality. The G2 features aggressively stippled grip texturing for improved control and replaces the traditional slide retainer pin with Glock-style takedown tabs for simplified disassembly. It retains the loaded chamber indicator found on prior Pro models but replaces the Heinie “Straight-8” sight system with adjustable three-dot sights for enhanced target acquisition. The G2 series was offered as the Taurus PT111 G2 in 9mm and the Taurus PT140 G2 in .40 S&W, both offering compact dimensions and dependable defensive performance.
