The Walther TP and TPH are ultra-compact, double/single-action, semi-automatic pistols designed for discreet carry and personal defense, chambered in .22 Long Rifle and .25 ACP. The TP, introduced in 1961, set the standard for pocket-sized pistols, while the TPH, in continuous production since 1968, adds refined enhancements including a fixed-barrel blowback system, a recoil spring surrounding the barrel for smooth cycling, and an enclosed breech with an ejection window for efficient spent case removal. Notable features include a spring-supported L-shaped extractor, left-side ejector, externally mounted connector, and a one-piece firing pin with a striker spring secured by the safety arbor, which also supports a 60-degree safety lever with integrated red indicator.
