Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
Many consider it the smoothest, most compact, and most beautiful lever action ever created by Winchester. The Model 1892 (commonly known as "the 92") was Winchester's successor to the renowned Model 1886. While the Model 1886 was designed for larger hunting and military calibers of the 1800s, such as the 45-70 Govt., the demand soon arose for a more compact lever rifle that could handle pistol calibers. In response, John Moses Browning crafted the Model 1892 prototype for Winchester, marking the beginning of its legendary legacy. This Winchester Model 1892 Short Rifle features a classic 20" round barrel, available in three excellent calibers: the 357 Mag, 44 Rem. Mag., and the .45 Colt, all of which are ideal for hunting in brushy conditions, quick-moving game, and cowboy action duties. The attention to detail is striking, with elements like the one-piece steel crescent buttplate, true to the original design, and a Marble Arms gold bead front sight that adds a touch of traditional elegance.
