The Zastava M59/66 is a Yugoslav-produced variant of the Simonov SKS semi-automatic carbine, manufactured by Zastava Arms for service with the Yugoslav People’s Army during the Cold War. Based on the original Soviet SKS design, the M59/66 incorporates several distinctive modifications tailored to Yugoslav military doctrine, most notably an integral 22mm grenade launcher, a flip-up grenade sight, and a gas shutoff valve to safely enable the launching of rifle grenades.
