Bryant Ridge Co. is pleased to present this semi-automatic pistol today for a penny-start auction, this is the Steyr Model 1911 "1912 Chilean Contract."
Before it saw Austrian service, the handgun found early success in the export market as the Model 1911, securing a dedicated contract of 5,000 units for the Chilean Army. Roll-stamped with the Chilean National Crest on the slide and a military acceptance star on the frame, these early contract pieces proved the design's immense reliability long before the outbreak of World War I, cementing these handguns today as some of the most unique and highly sought-after variants for military collectors.
