Manufactured in 1925, this Type III variant reflects the final major evolution of the Pocket Hammerless line, notably lacking a barrel bushing in .380 ACP configurations and produced during the 1910–1926 production period. Compact yet well-balanced, it features a 3¾-inch blued barrel, fixed sights, and elegant checkered walnut grips accented with Colt medallions, showcasing the high level of craftsmanship associated with Colt’s commercial pistols of the time. Designed for discreet carry and smooth operation, the internal hammer “hammerless” design provides snag-free handling, making it especially popular among civilian carriers and law enforcement officers of the early 20th century. Today, the Model 1908 Type III remains highly regarded for its historical significance, build quality, and role as a foundational design in Colt’s pocket pistol lineage.
