The 1966 Colt Single Action Frontier Scout is a classic rimfire single-action revolver produced by Colt's Manufacturing Company during the height of America’s postwar fascination with Old West styling and frontier-era handguns. Introduced in the late 1950s, the Frontier Scout was designed as a scaled-down, affordable companion to Colt’s legendary Single Action Army, offering shooters the same iconic Peacemaker profile in a lighter, more economical rimfire format. A 1966 production example comes from a mature period of Frontier Scout manufacture, when the model had become highly popular among recreational shooters, collectors, and younger enthusiasts drawn to western films and television. The revolver is typically chambered in .22 Long Rifle, with many examples also supplied with an auxiliary .22 Magnum cylinder depending on the specific variation.
