Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Browning B-92 is widely regarded as one of the finest modern reproductions of John M. Browning's legendary Winchester Model 1892 lever-action rifle. Manufactured by Miroku in Japan from 1978 through 1987, the B-92 debuted as the limited-edition Centennial model in .44 Remington Magnum before becoming a standard production rifle in 1979. Additional chamberings, including .357 Magnum, were introduced later, with the .357 models becoming especially desirable due to their comparatively limited production. Built with a forged steel receiver, a 20-inch barrel, traditional walnut stocks, and a steel crescent buttplate, the B-92 is renowned for its exceptional machining, deep polished blue finish, and remarkably smooth action. Unlike later Miroku-produced Winchester Model 1892 rifles, the Browning B-92 retains the original half-cock hammer design without a rebounding hammer or tang safety, making it especially appealing to traditional lever-action enthusiasts who appreciate its authentic handling characteristics. Weighing approximately 5½ pounds, the rifle offers excellent balance, quick handling, and impressive accuracy while remaining strong enough to handle modern magnum handgun cartridges. Although production ended in 1987, the B-92 has developed a loyal following among shooters and collectors alike, with its outstanding craftsmanship, relatively limited production, and faithful adherence to John Browning's original design making it one of the most sought-after lever-action rifles produced during the modern era.
