The Colt Single Action Army Sheriff's Edition is a distinctive variation of the legendary Single Action Army produced by Colt's Manufacturing Company, designed as part of a themed commemorative package celebrating the iconic “Sheriff’s Model.” While true Sheriff’s Models are defined by their short barrels, this example represents the 5½" companion revolver that was included in the factory cased Sheriff’s Edition sets. Built in the traditional .45 Colt chambering with a rich Royal Blue finish and classic walnut grips, it retains all the handling characteristics and mechanical heritage that have made the SAA one of the most recognizable revolvers in American history. The Sheriff’s Edition sets were marketed as collectible, presentation-grade packages, typically pairing a short-barrel Sheriff’s Model with a full-size companion revolver like this one.
