Engineered as a robust alternative to Colt's classic Government Model, the Model IX-B retains John Browning's famous short-recoil tilting barrel locking mechanism, single-action trigger execution, functional backstrap grip safety, and frame-mounted thumb safety. The "IX-B" iteration features distinct design refinements, including an integrated full-length ventilated sight rib running across the top slide spine, windage-adjustable target rear sight, extended slide release controls, and a contoured trigger guard. Imported to the United States during the late 1980s by C.M.I. of Miami, Florida, the Model IX-B combines solid Spanish steel metallurgy w/ traditional 1911 operational handling and eye-catching target styling.
