Introduced in 1982 as the successor to Alexander Sturm and William B. Ruger's original 1949 Standard pistol, the Ruger Mark II is widely considered the absolute high-water mark of Ruger's rimfire handguns. Upgraded w/ a bolt hold-open latch on the last shot, refined trigger linkage, and precision target sights, the Mark II achieved legendary status among competitive target shooters, bullseye competitors, and recreational plinkers alike. The desirable MK-512 variant features a 5.5-inch heavy bull barrel designed to offer superior forward balance and virtually eliminate muzzle rise during rapid target strings.
This specific example is an authentic Southport, Connecticut manufactured Ruger Mark II Target bearing serial number 215-35241, produced in 1990. Chambered in economical .22 Long Rifle, it features a 5.5-inch heavy target bull barrel, rich factory blued steel finish, micro-adjustable rear target sight, undercut front target blade, and original checkered black composite grips w/ silver Ruger medallions.
