Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
Designed by John Moses Browning in 1878 as his very first firearm patent, the Model 1885 Single Shot "High Wall" established a legacy of legendary accuracy and ultra-strong lockup that set the gold standard for black powder and centerfire target shooting. When Browning re-introduced the platform in 1985—manufactured to exacting tolerances by Miroku in Japan—it incorporated modern metallurgy, slick lockwork, and match-grade barrels, making it one of the most respected single-shot rifles ever produced.
Manufactured in 1994 (date code "NW"), this Grade 1 Model 1885 High Wall is chambered in the highly desirable .223 Remington cartridge. It features a commanding 28-inch full octagonal heavy target barrel that provides unmatched stability and heat dissipation, a deep high-gloss blued finish, an adjustable match trigger with a gold-plated shoe, a smooth curved operating lever, and premium cut-checkered walnut furniture w/ a factory rubber recoil pad and sling swivel studs.
