Carried across the wilderness by legendary frontiersmen such as Jim Bridger, Kit Carson, Jedediah Smith, Hugh Glass, Joseph Meek, and Auguste Lacome—and later coveted by historians and conservationists like Theodore Roosevelt—the Hawken earned its reputation through rugged durability, substantial stopping power, and dependable performance in unforgiving frontier conditions. That same character is carried into this reproduction, built in .50 caliber around a 28" octagon barrel with a versatile 1:48 twist rate well suited for traditional patched round ball shooting and steady black powder performance in the field.
