Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
Introduced in 1962, the Remington Model 700 has long served as the gold standard of American bolt-action hunting rifles, renowned worldwide for its legendary "three rings of steel" action design that encloses the cartridge case head within the recessed bolt face, barrel shank, and heavy cylindrical receiver. Among all cataloged variations, the BDL (B-Deluxe) configuration represents the most recognizable and beloved flagship edition. Embellished with a lustrous mirror-bright blued steel finish, an engine-turned jeweled bolt body, and a high-gloss American walnut stock featuring distinctive skipline checkering, an ebony forend tip, and white-line spacers, the 700 BDL perfectly balances hunting performance with timeless elegance. Chambered in the quintessential .30-06 Springfield cartridge, this rifle is capable of taking any North American big game animal from whitetail to elk with flat-shooting downrange power.
This magnificent example is an authentic Remington Model 700 BDL chambered in .30-06 Springfield, bearing serial number E6837520 with Ilion, New York barrel date code "OP" indicating July 1995 production. It features a 22-inch high-gloss sporter barrel, smooth factory jeweled bolt, hinged steel floorplate, and a classic Monte Carlo American walnut stock with cut skipline checkering and contrasting black grip cap and forend tip. The factory polished blued finish presents in wonderful condition throughout, displaying deep lustrous bluing across the receiver and barrel. The high-gloss walnut stock remains solid and handsome, showing honest light hunting character in the clear coat along the forend consistent with careful field use. Mechanically, the action glides on glass, lockup is rock-solid, the trigger breaks cleanly, and the 22-inch bore is bright with sharp, well-defined rifling throughout. Topped with installed two-piece bases and 1-inch matte black scope rings, this turn-key 700 BDL is optic-ready and primed for generations of hunting seasons ahead.
