Manufactured by Smith & Wesson from 1989 to 1996, the Model 640 was designed as a dependable concealed carry revolver that emphasized simplicity, reliability, and snag-free operation. Built on the company’s round-butt J-frame platform, it features a five-shot fluted cylinder rated for +P loads along with a fully enclosed hammer that allows for a smooth draw from pockets, holsters, or other concealed-carry setups while protecting the internal action from debris. Fitted with a compact 1 7/8-inch barrel, it maintains a highly concealable profile while offering quick handling and balanced performance in close-range defensive roles. Its serrated ramp front sight and fixed integral notch rear sight provide a simple, low-profile sighting system designed for rapid target acquisition at defensive distances. 
 
It also retains the smooth double-action-only trigger pull that helped make the Model 640 a trusted carry option. Any orders placed with magazines that are not compliant with your state, county, or city regulations will not ship with your order.
