Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
Introduced in 1990 alongside the newly developed .40 S&W cartridge, the Glock 22 quickly ascended to become the most ubiquitous and trusted law enforcement service sidearm in American history. Combining the full-size frame footprint and high-capacity magazine architecture of the Glock 17 with the expanded diameter and street-proven stopping power of the .40 caliber round, the G22 was adopted by the FBI, DEA, and thousands of municipal, county, and state police agencies nationwide. In the early 2000s, Glock introduced factory-molded Olive Drab (OD) Green frames—a limited-production departure from standard black polymer that achieved immediate cult-classic status among collectors. Featuring Gen 3 ergonomics—including an integrated universal accessory rail, molded finger grooves, and contoured thumb rests—early Austrian-proofed factory OD Green Glock 22s remain among the most sought-after collector pieces in modern polymer handgun history.
This magnificent example is an authentic Austrian-produced Glock 22 Gen 3 factory OD Green pistol chambered in .40 S&W, bearing matching serial number GPU445 across the slide, barrel, frame dust cover, factory case label, and original factory test-fire envelope. Manufactured in October 2004, it features a 4.49-inch barrel with cold hammer-forged hexagonal rifling, factory matte black Tenifer slide finish, fixed white-dot front sight, white U-notch rear sight, and original factory Olive Drab Green polymer grip frame with integrated accessory rail. The factory finishes present in collector-grade condition throughout, displaying clean slide edges, sharp markings, and pristine OD green polymer surfaces without wear or modification. Mechanically, the Safe-Action trigger cycles with crisp, tactile reset, slide cycling is fluid with rock-solid lockup, and the 4.49-inch bore is mirror-bright with razor-sharp rifling. Complete in its original factory serialized black clamshell case with factory spent test-fire casing envelope dated October 20, 2004, instruction manuals, registration card, safety literature, cable lock, nylon cleaning brush, cleaning rod, and one (1) factory high-capacity 15-round magazine, this rare factory OD Green G22 is an investment-grade centerpiece for any modern military, police, or Glock collection.
