Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
Introduced by GLOCK in 2009 for a very limited production run, the RTF2 (Rough Texture Frame 2) variant of the full-sized Model 22 represents one of the most highly sought-after collectible variations in modern GLOCK history. Engineered in response to special operations and law enforcement requests for enhanced grip traction in wet or extreme tactical conditions, the RTF2 frame features hundreds of raised, miniature pyramid stipples embedded into the polymer handle. The most iconic and rare element of the initial RTF2 production run was the inclusion of crescent-shaped curved slide cocking serrations, colloquially dubbed by collectors as "Fish Gills" or "Scallops." Due to mixed initial commercial feedback regarding the ultra-aggressive grip texture and non-standard slide profile, GLOCK quickly discontinued the crescent serrations in favor of traditional vertical cuts, making factory original "Fish Gill" RTF2 pistols prized centerpiece investment pieces for serious GLOCK collectors worldwide.
This specific example is an authentic Austrian-manufactured GLOCK 22 RTF2 pistol chambered in .40 S&W, bearing serial number NYN882 with matching numbers across the slide, frame, barrel, factory box, and spent casing envelope dated October 23, 2009. Outfitted in rare factory collectible trim, it features the aggressive RTF2 pyramid grip texture, factory crescent "Fish Gill" rear slide cocking serrations, 4.49-inch cold hammer-forged barrel, Tenifer slide treatment, factory steel MH3 tritium night sights, and an under-barrel accessory rail[. The original black Tenifer and polymer finishes present in pristine overall condition throughout, displaying clean slide surfaces, sharp serration ridges, and crisp roll-stamps. Mechanically, the Safe Action mechanism functions with glass-smooth precision, trigger reset is short, and the 4.49-inch barrel bore is mirror-bright. Complete in its original factory serialized Tupperware-style hard case with matching end-label, owner's manual packet, promotional inserts, cleaning rod and brush, factory spent shell casing envelope signed by technician Betty Walton, and three (3) factory 15-round steel-lined polymer double-stack magazines (one seated in pistol, two loose spares), this GLOCK 22 RTF2 "Fish Gill" offers a complete investment-grade GLOCK package.
