The Remington Model 597 Magnum LS Heavy Barrel is a premium, high-performance semi-automatic rimfire rifle chambered in the powerful .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire (.22 WMR) cartridge. Engineered as a heavy-duty varmint and target rifle, featuring a straight blowback action utilizing Remington’s unique twin steel guide rails and dual recoil springs for ultra-smooth bolt cycling. It is equipped with a rigid, non-reflective 20-inch black carbon-steel heavy bull barrel designed to maximize accuracy, dissipate heat, and eliminate shot-to-shot vibration. The action is housed in a durable, weather-resistant brown laminate wood stock with a wide, stable beavertail-style forearm for a steady hold. For reliable feeding, the rifle utilizes an 8-round detachable box magazine and features a last-round bolt hold-open mechanism that locks the action open when empty. Built without factory iron sights, the alloy receiver features both an integral dovetail rail and pre-drilled/tapped for mounting scopes and optics, making it a clean, ready-to-customize platform for aftermarket Weaver-style optics bases.
