In 2017, SIG Sauer achieved a historic milestone when the United States Armed Forces selected the SIG Sauer M17 as the winner of the Modular Handgun System (MHS) competition to replace the aging Beretta M9. Built on the innovative P320 polymer frame architecture, the full-sized M17 features a coyote tan PVD finish, ambidextrous manual thumb safety, SIGLITE night sights, optic-ready removable rear plate, and a stainless steel internal chassis system housing the serialized Fire Control Unit (FCU). To satisfy overwhelming military collector demand, SIG Sauer released a limited number of authentic U.S. Military Surplus M17 handguns that were actually returned from active military service, making them instant cornerstones for modern military arms collectors.
This specific example is an authentic U.S. Military Surplus SIG Sauer M17 bearing serial number TF002899, manufactured in 2019 (box dated 07-DEC-2019).
