After one of the most rigorous and highly competitive evaluations in modern U.S. military history, the Sig Sauer M17 was awarded the Modular Handgun System (MHS) contract for the U.S. Army. Based on the proven Sig Sauer P320 platform, the M17 was selected for its innovative modular design, dependable performance, and overall capability under demanding service conditions. The commercial P320-M17 closely mirrors the specifications of the Army’s issued sidearm, offering civilian shooters a faithful representation of the military configuration. Chambered in 9mm and striker-fired, the P320-M17 is built around a 4.7-inch carbon steel barrel, delivering service-grade durability, consistent accuracy, and balanced handling. The pistol features a coyote-tan PVD-coated stainless-steel slide cut to the same optic specification outlined in the MHS contract, along with black controls consistent with current military production pistols. It is equipped with a SIGLITE front night sight and features an attached ROMEO1PRO 1x30mm 6 MOA red dot sight, which replaces the factory removable rear plate to provide rapid target acquisition. The pistol utilizes a coyote-tan, carry-length medium polymer grip module with aggressive texturing for enhanced control and ergonomics. It comes standard with a manual thumb safety and includes one 17-round magazine and one 10-round magazine.
