Produced in Covina, California, the AMT 25/22 Lightning gained fame as one of the very first all-stainless steel renditions of the famous Ruger 10/22 platform. Before Ruger regularly offered full stainless receivers across the 10/22 line, AMT engineered a rugged 100% stainless steel receiver, barrel, and trigger guard housing that accepted standard 10/22 rotary magazines and aftermarket accessories. Valued by rimfire collectors for its early custom manufacturing roots and unique historical connection to the 10/22 family tree, the AMT Lightning is a rare find today.
This exact rifle, serial number J01870, was manufactured by AMT in Covina, California. Chambered in .22 LR with an 18.5-inch stainless steel barrel, it features a satin stainless finish, grooved receiver top, fiber-optic front sight, extended magazine release, and a vintage Ram-Line black synthetic side-folding stock equipped with a finger-groove pistol grip and custom brass-tone wire strut sleeve.
