The Beretta BU9 Nano is an ultra-compact, striker-fired semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9mm and designed specifically for deep concealed carry. Developed to compete in the micro-9mm market, it operates on a short-recoil, locked-breech system built around a serialized internal stainless steel chassis. Housed in a fiberglass-reinforced polymer frame, this modular core lets users easily swap outer grip shells. Featuring a 3.07-inch barrel, a 5.63-inch overall length, and a slim 0.90-inch width, the Nano is extremely compact and snag-resistant. Its smooth exterior lacks a traditional slide-stop lever or manual safety, eliminating the risk of catching on clothing during a draw. The pistol feeds from a single-stack magazine, offering a 6-round flush capacity or an 8-round extended option to improve grip surface. Its striker-fired trigger provides a consistent weight of 7.5 to 9 pounds, which is purposely long and heavy to serve as a built-in safety. The design also incorporates an internal firing pin block, a drop safety, and a unique striker deactivator pin for toolless, safe field-stripping.
